i went on a test drive of a local 97 taco today from a used lot
nobody needed to ride along (left my truck on their lot)
took it for a 20 minute spin and a real good lookover

    Stock for now
Just to clarify, if your truck frame is not rusty and scaling, no one in their right mind would quack it with a hammer. You’ll only need a hammer if the frame is rusty. Hammer test to see the severity of the rust problem.

Hitting your Frame with a hammer is no big deal at all, its understandable since these frames have rust issues. taking it to a shop to have a mechanic inspect would be a good idea as well, i would just advise the buyer that if the time is going to be taken out of your day then the price should be firm
i would not let them pull plugs, now i would pull the plugs and perform the test if needed but wouldn't let a buyer work on something i was selling
