not a single cent, basically told me somebody will buy it. i even had negotiated a book price deal on one (hadn't been processed through the dealer yet), only to be undermined by the dealers manager, claiming the price went up due to two offers from out of state willing to pay 20k & 20.5k

my deal wasn't in writing yet, and it was with the internet manager, not the gm.

:annoyed: 20k is incredibly high. I overpaid for mine and I paid just under 15k...

I bought an 04 double cab 4x4 trd with 34,000 miles on it last sept. (sept, 2010) and I paid $17,300. I got a great deal cause the dealer wanted $20,500 for it but they couldnt finance me for that much and they had already given me the truck to take home! I tell you being the DC and with that few miles on it and only one previous owner I was more than happy to pay that amount. But the deal has to be right. Dont rush there are lots of tacomas out there. Just wait. I waited a year and a half and got my dream truck.

not rushing on a purchase, i waited a longtime to get my 99, and managed to buy from the original owner, came with both keys, manuals and service records. even had the original window sticker and sales paperwork.

i just have time on my hands right now, so looking has become a hobby :)

i prefer the 1st gen, due to the smaller size and better feeling manual transmission (to me anyway). ultimately i would like the 2nd gen motor and interior stuffed into a 1st gen body :)

When I saw it on autotrader it was for $14,900. So I called right away and it was an older man that was selling it cause it was his step sons truck that passed away of a heart attack at 56 two months prior from me buying it. I negotiated to $14 flat over the phone and he said that I would have to go that day for that price. He was almost 2hrs away but it was well worth it:D

here is a big question. Where are you located? in Southern Cali they go for 9-15k, but in other states the price can go up or down by 5k easily.

I'm new to Tacoma's, but here in the rust belt a clean rust-free 4x4 (considering the age) will bring anywhere from $2k-$3k more than a typical rust belt truck. Plus the used truck market is strong right now. Private parties are getting more, which means dealers are jacking prices.

Plus you have ru-tards who have more money/credit than sense.

I had to search daily for 2 months to get my 03 4x4 with 90k miles for $10k and had to drive 2 hours to get it. They're in very high demand in my area. Its really common to see 1st gens sitting on a lot with over 100k miles marked for about $15,000. The lot across from my office had an 04 extra cab v6 trd auto with 120,000 miles and they were asking 15,499. It only sat on the lot for about a week and it was gone.

the pacific northwest, these trucks come at a premium here. even new tacoma's are quite hard to negotiate much more then 2k off msrp.

this is about average for my area as well.

Damn, after reading this thread I don't think I did so well... 15k for a '04 PreRunner DC w/ 40k, 2 owners. It did make me feel alittle better when I refinnaced and they valued the truck at 18.4k. In the end I'll keep this truck until the wheels fall off so no biggy.
