You should maybe think about looking in further areas...yea you're gonna pay for shipping, but sometimes the deal is soo good that even with shipping it comes out cheaper... the only thing is that you have to trust the person/dealer selling it to you, as far as the condition, etc of the truck. I once bought 85'mazda rx7 from Ohio without even looking at it in person and fortunately it was exactly as described

To answer the OP's question: Nope. But I wouldn't buy a first gen either...

Great trucks, but you're all seriously going to spend $16k on something that is 7 years old? No thanks. *shrug*

good point, the one positive about my local area (west coast), is that i haven't seen any rust on these trucks. my '99 is super clean with virtually zero rust as well.

it's hard to spend a lot of cash sight unseen. i've done it with a motorcycle, but that was a bit less cash.

my issue is the 2nd gen trucks just don't do it for me, i like the interior, i like the exterior, but to me the driving experience isn't enjoyable (for me). these trucks feel bigger then they are, yet the inside feels small or short (visibility wise). i've driven several auto, and manual access cabs with various packages and just can't get excited about them. yet when i see a super clean low mileage 1st gen, i want it bad.

part of the problem is i will not buy an automatic, and i hate the manual in the 2nd gen, that and what i posted above sum it up.

no offense to 2nd gen guys, as i said, they look good inside and out. just not my cup of tea.

DC with 47k miles. Also included 2 brand new sets of tires, camper shell, recovery gear, and a tank of gas. But yes, still a little pricey for a used truck. No regrets here though. I love my truck.
