    Same here.

If I were looking at a full size, it'd either be a Tundra or an F-Series.

I bought my Tacoma specifically because of all the bitching about it being a truck that had an engine, interior and style that was dated. I don't want some new hot shit to beta test for a manufacturer so I can be the guy who deals with the headaches of them working out all the kinks.

This is also why I did not get a Tundra. It was not a cost issue, or a size issue, it was an issue with a lot of the new generation engines having problems while Toyota works out the finer points of creating one that will go a half a million miles while just being maintained.

I came to Toyota from an '04 F150. My Ford was totaled in an accident. We were unscathed. I was very appreciative to my F150 and Ford. I went to the dealer to buy a '14 Supercab and was set on buying Ford again but then I saw freshly traded Taco on the lot. I took it for a spin and was sold. The size and comfort were the determining factors. Rarely will I be toting 6 people or towing massive loads. Gas is low ATM, but prices will rise. The F150 was NICE. Too nice for my needs right now. Here's what I liked about the F150:
    Safety aspects
    V8 rumble
    Comfort
    Visability
    Audio quality
    No frills
    Design

My last F150 was a 2006 supercrew, on 35s with 4.56 gears and front and rear lockers.

I'm buying a 2nd gen Tacoma because I want something lighter with a smaller footprint. The F150 was a solid truck. Very sturdy frame, drove great, very comfortable with a ton of space inside. But I just don't want/need a big bulky heavy truck right now. I looked at the Ford dealer this morning and the new SuperCrew F150 retails in the high 40s to low 50s. Then there is the issue of a first year of a model, same reason I'm not buying a 2016 Tacoma.

However if I needed a bigger truck it would be an F150 over the Tundra.

If I could fit it in my garage, I would have bought a full size, probably a Ram 3.6 due to mileage or a Ford 5.0 if I could have gotten comfortable with its consumption(I don't trust direct injection) but alas, instead of one big garage door, my builder decided 2 little garage doors so width is a concern and a full size is too tight to put in and out on a daily basis. So a m mid size is all I can comfortably own.

    I refuse to park outside.

My garage barely holds my 4 door Tacoma; I don't even park it inside the garage because of this circumstance. I wouldn't be upside down if I traded it in for an f150, however their price is a little on the high side. I'm still debating.

No way! If you want to put up with the grief of driving a full sized truck get a F250 or F350. IMHO if you're going to drive a big truck at least get one with a man's sized load rating.

I've had a full sized half ton, one ton dually and the Tacoma. If I couldn't have the Tacoma I'd get the dually. That truck could haul ass, and according to my wife, looked like a woman with a big ass from the rear.

never, thing is too big and ugly. maybe if they made an epic cool truck with futuristic lines that was the size of a first gen, then I might would consider it.

absolutely, have my eye on the 17 raptor. 2 years down the line I'd be willing to pickup a bigger truck

Sure, why not. They are no worse than a Tacoma. All vehicles have something wrong, yet to find anything that's perfect. If I was to buy tomorrow, I'd also look seriously at the Colorado - good looking truck, better than the 3rd gen taco, at least to me.

I thought about it, but I don't need a full size and since I prefer my vehicles to have creature comforts now too the F-150 I want is a $50K truck. So, I won't be trading my Taco any time soon. That said, I did also consider trying to make a deal on a loaded 2014 FX4 but again came to the conclusion that my Taco is still the perfect truck for me.

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
No, but if Ford sold the diesel Ranger that Australia gets, then yes.

^^^this. F150 is too big for me. I drove a Titan for almost 2 years and I felt like I was driving around in my living room.

Having both a 2015 F150 and 2015 Tacoma dcsb, i will say this. The f150 is hands down a badass truck and can't be beat for luxury and work alike. As the owner of RCI metalworks, owning the Tacoma is primarily for R&D and marketing but still I find myself driving it just as much because of the smaller easier to drive size. Also, plain and simply you DONT offroad an F150 and for our business that is a must. Each truck has it's place in my garage ;)
