Check my build thread...too much to list.
I'm not quite sure but it may be a bit more roomy. My two kids don't really complain because they are two and a newborn lol. It should be more comfortable though in the 4Runner because you are able to recline the seats unlike the Tacoma. Not to mention the rear seats get two A/C vents on the rear of the center console and there are none in the Tacoma besides the floor vents under the front seats.

The 4Runner hands down. The ride is just way better. I do love my truck though.

My Tacoma seats are more comfortable to me, but I don't care for leather. The 4runner has a smoother ride and my son says the back seats give him more room.

I would say the 4runner is better for long trips.

I've thought about trading in my truck for a 4runner, but I still would like a bed to haul bigger things like a motorcycle or fridge. Unless if you rarely haul things and carry passengers more often, 4runner sounds good. You can always rent a truck for the big stuff or befriend a fellow truck owner and supply him with booze.

I drove a family friend's basic SR5 4runner and the ride is hands down better and the gas mileage seemed to be better. However I would not trade it because the Taco is better at hauling materials and towing. If you don't put dirty things in your truck or have a trailer a 4runner is a great option.

    Too few to list.
We have a 2010 4Runner SR5 4x4 and also a Tacoma. I drive both and it would just be a preference of choice between the two. They are both great. I do like the manual transfer case on the 4runner better but I also like my locking diff on the truck. All depends on what suits you.

Personally I wouldn't... but then again I owned a 2nd Gen 4Runner up until about 10 years ago.

I loved driving that 4Runner but it sort of lost it's luster with me when it blew two A/C compressors in a period of a month.

I would trade my Tacoma for a 4Runner if I found the holy grail; a 3rd gen 4runner with 5-speed manual and e-locker. White exterior, leather interior, under 120K miles.

I'd love a new 4Runner. Wish I could afford a new one as a DD and travel rig, and keep the Tacoma for truck duty.

I tried to convince my wife to get one (she's due a new car and is looking at small/mid size suv's),
She says the 4Runner has "shoulders" and is too manly for her.

I can't imagine paying more money so I could have an older car with more miles (km) on it. But that's me...

I agree. If I had one it would be new. I don't do used.

If you want the 4 Runner go for it.

In my case I would not want to haul dead deer or a pallet of grass sod, etc in the back of a 4 Runner. OK in the bed of a pickup.

We have a SUV for travel and a Corvette for fun rides so the 4 Runner would not fill a void.

So, the 4Runner is a year older and has what...18,000 more miles AND they want another 8k in funny money?

I went from a 2012 Taco DCSB Off Road TX Pro 4x4 to a 2014 4Runner Limited 4x4 and love the 4Runner. I also loved my Taco but, the 4Runner fit my needs better. I also haven't missed the "bed"...at all.

But, in your case I'd say "no" just at face value. I personally (unless the need dictated) would not take the $ beating on my newer truck (your 2013) and then give them $$ on top of it for an older vehicle (2012) with more miles. But, only you know your wants and needs.

My Taco and Runner are pictured below...

Let us know of of course supply pics! Good luck!

    Willie...

I respectfully disagree on the 4Runner/Car comparison.

And, 3rd of 4th Tacoma?

Concur. It (the 4Runner) shares its fully boxed frame with the Prado (think Land Cruiser in markets outside the US)...it's plenty rugged. A while back I remember a dude calling it a mini van too so...
