Calling bullshit. Trade is worth 16-18 according to the websites that the dealers use. But they are willing to offer you 24K... rriiggght.

 

I get real estate offers all the time. living in Northern California the market is hot. So when they call I tell them 100K over market value and 25K moving expenses that usually stops the conversation. During the recent recession the investors were alway trying to lowball me told them the same. Found they were looking for distressed property to turn into grow houses. 4 houses behind me were all busted one twice. My 2010 has 33K on it went by Dealer to get some plugs and they were all over it, told them no way.

 

Don’t be silly. Dealers don’t use lube when they screw people over. They’re into that rough and dirty shit.

That’s just trade in value . The dealer won’t give you above retail . Good luck getting 24k for a perfect 2010 prerunner .

I get unrealistically high offers for my cars in the mail all of the time - many just like the one you doubt. You show up thinking you're going to get 10K for a 12 yr. Camry with 240K on the clock. All done simply to get you into the dealership. Dealers prey on naïve types who buy into this come-on-bait scheme.

 

If you look at the fine print on the bottom of these offers, there is a way to opt out of future mailings. Just like there is on the credit card offers that come in the mail.

 

I get one about every 3 months, offering to give me a truck basically like mine brand new for about the same as my payment was for 6 years. The funny part about mine is it is paid off and they know it. So they want me to baically just buy another truck for full price and give them the 20k equity I have in mine...

 

I get cards saying they will pay 120% above market value, then it ends with what condition and mileage is your vehicle in. After all my upgrades I have done I couldn’t see trading it in with only 93K miles.

 

They offered me somewhere around 8K.

 

I just got one for my truck and they offered 17k
