Thanks everyone for the Input and i'll take all into consideration. Im going to give them a chance at presenting their numbers Vs my demands. Its a unique time in history so if i can capitalize on it then why not.

With all the travel i do for work i am all over the province. ( for scale my province Ontario is 1.5x the size of Texas) So a vehicle with a warranty is very nice to have and a reliable one ( why i chose the Tacoma ) is also needed. I have the 200,000 km/7 year platinum ECP Plan. I usually drive and dump after 5 -6 years anyways. Its going to be all about their Numbers in the end and they are offering me a new Tacoma . Its a used one they are hurting for.

    1) i have the TRD sport trim package with a Hard Tacoma Tonneau cover and Rubber Bed mat, sunroof. I have tinted side windows and the truck has ( as stated above) the 7 year 200,000km Platinum ECP package. If their offer isnt the same NEW TRD Sport or a TRD off road with the same options then its no deal and the numbers need to be right. Im not going to go into a slightly lower payment that lasts for 5 years when i can have this one blasted out in the next 30 months. whatever they offer as residual to finance has to be close to my current payment and loan period not exceeding 36 months. If they can meet my demands then we could make a deal. I dont mind getting the Opticoat pro plus coating put back on again and paying for a level lift either.

Not as much plastic as the 2011 o_O. Did they offer you anything?

I get this offer every time I take the truck in for service since the covid shortages....knowing that its a bad deal (new truck would be marked up) I spend the time talking to the salesman, since I am waiting for my truck anyway. When he gets to the point where he tells me what their offer on my truck is, I say...Ok sounds great, but I have an additional owner markup due to shortage of inventory of 10K that will be applied to that amount. About that time the conversation ends....I've been thru 3 different salesmen with this at this point....lol

I will definitely do that and update. I'm kind of curious to see what they are willing to bring to the table. Like i said it will be all about the final numbers and what they offer for it. looking at it as a bit of an adventure and a good learning experience as well.

I've had three offers over a period of 4 months from my local 'Yota stealership, offering to buy my truck or give me a "premium discount" on a new Tacoma or Turdra with my trade-in. My first two refusals were a polite "no". When I got the third one, I asked them how stupid they thought I was to want to trade a paid-off, trouble-free 2011 DCSB SR5 with just over 100K, for a new whatever I chose that I'd be paying for for the next 5 years and wasn't as good a truck as the one I already had. Then I politely requested that they cease and desist from any more unsolicited phone calls.

I had a very positive experience regarding this. I am in Canada, dealership asked if they could put my 2019 TRD Sport premium to auction. All the dealerships were able to bid on it, and if I liked the price(met the reserve we set) we could accept it. If I didn't like the price, I could keep my truck and forget this ever happened. Well the truck went for about $10k over what I owed, and there was a 2022 Taco arriving first week of November as my replacement. So I am getting a new truck, and my payments actually went down(better credit rating/loyalty bonus interest rate reduction this time around), and I pocketed $10k. I obvs will be purchasing lift/rims/tires for the new truck but even after that I will still pocket about $7500. I will also be selling stock rims/tires so I will make a little back there even. I know this is probably a rarity, but maybe, just maybe it doesnt always hurt to hear your dealership out!

No. I just wanted to get out of there. I like the dealer about as much as the Dentist if you know what I mean. Lol. No offense to your truck btw just my preference.

They told me they aren’t getting anymore Tacomas in until around February 2022, They had 2 white 2021 models on the floor but pretty much stock and a sticker of 36K so I just laughed my way out. Lol and they were 4 cyl

I get it, we all have our preferences! The interior was part of the reason I fell in love with the Tacoma. I'm not as wary of dealerships as some people, but I do always wonder how I'm getting screwed.

I hear ya. Got a good deal on oil filters though so it wasn’t ALL bad @ 2 for $10.00 so not all that bad. Just ridiculous the prices they seriously ask but everything’s negotiable I guess right?? Lll

Over the years they must have made at least 10 offers to buy back my 2007.... in person and numerous mailings. It's been 14 years now and with the condition it's in, 32,500 miles and absolutely zero rust they're still after it!:annoyed:
