I have a DCLB OR off road automatic. I find the I am constantly driving slowly in this truck. For comparison I have a Silverado short bed v6 that likes to fly up and down the highway. The taco can barely stay with slow traffic.

    1. Did you test drive?
    2. There is a TSB that will supposedly help out. (Although I couldnt tell the difference)

I’m willing to bet that the Taco will beat the Chevy in a drag race. You just need to give it more throttle.

Remember, your truck weighs about 4500lbs and is powered by a tiny 3.5L V6. It's not gonna be a rocket ship without turbos or a supercharger

It does seem to go ham when you throttle it though. When I NEED my truck to move, it moves alot faster than I would expect it to.

TFL did a Taco vs Tundra drag race and the Taco beat it like 2 out of 3 of the times which blew me away because my old Tundra felt soooo much more powerful. It just has a different power band.

Do we have another case of 'shiny bauble' here? Meaning you bought w/o a through test drive?

Can't wait till you find the other things you don't like.

( :gossip: have you noticed it doesn't have power seats?)

There is a button labeled “ETC PWR” it unleashes all the horses in the world. Give it a :burnrubber:

Other than that you should’ve expected it if you bought it. The Tacoma’s were designed to save fuel and what not. I’m getting my TSB done next week so I shall see how much mike improves. I like how it drives with th TSB done.

The sign up for this site should strongly suggest (require) no dumping on vehicles until 100 posts or such. Just to weed out potential trolls or to restructure threads to problem solving / suggestion based threads .

Hitting the throttle and getting up to 6k rpm is music to my ears. I use my heavy foot and find my truck to be very responsive and not slow at all. The tsb will help the throttle response.

These trucks are happiest a little higher in the RPM band...my Tundra had gobs of power with a couple mm of pedal, while the Tacoma doesn't by comparison. So, less of a vehicle issue, and more of a cockpit issue...

I always suggest to new buyers to get an extended or overnight test drives, foolish to spend that much money without it.
