If you love your Chevy so much why didn't you buy another? :pout:
My truck has plenty of power. Not Toyota's fault you don't know how to utilize it.

To answer some of the flames. The Chevy is a work truck provided by my employer. I would never spend a penny on one. Second I really love the truck. I just find it odd that when I drive it I seem to activate grandpa mode in my right foot.

The problem is you have to teach that foot who is boss. I have tricked my right foot into thinking it’s a brick so it hammers the throttle and the truck gets up and goes.

Stock suspension, stock wheels, stock bumper, stock, stock, stock, dammit!
TSB 62-18. Tell your service center this and have them apply the update. I was almost ready to trade mine back in for a 2015 because of the draggy/ quirky transmission, but after the update, the truck is awesome!

I bought an auto. It was craptastic. Drove it 10k mi and it didn't get any better. Got rid of it and bought the 6spd Manual OR and it's so much better.

    Is OP comparing a 2wd to a 4wd?

Anyway, my 2017 Tacoma Limited felt quicker than the 2003 F150 4.6L V8 it replaced.

A little aggression with the right foot goes a long way. I was used to a light throttle foot in my past driving experiences. I was starting to get a bit frustrated with the taco. I passed someone on a tight two lane road, first time actually giving it some aggressive skinny pedal. When that thing gets in the right rpm range to drink gas, it has some serious legs for a pickup. Use all the skinny, not the first 1/4.

I rode in a Taco Automatic with the Throttle Commander installed (Anyone Yes Anyone can install) and only had it set on "Sports" mode and a very noticeable response difference than without. I have a Manual Transmission model and no issues at all.

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
I love the people that asked if you test drove. I probably asked it too when I arrogantly or defensively defended the 3rd gen.

Don't put heavy tires on it.
    Don't put lots of armor.

Or just simply prepare to Tune or Regear from the beginning.

Great truck from a quality perspective, but it's gone now cause I just wanted a little more visceral experience, more power.

That 3rd gen will likely be doing great by the time my Ferd is broken on the side of the road. But in the meantime, BOOOOOOSTTTT! and ironically, similar or better MPG on this truck.

I Love my '16 AC TRD OR AT.
Drives great. Passing 30K miles, keeps getting better. Performance, gas mileage, etc.
Including the 6K - 8K miles I've towed with it.
    Enjoy!

That’s what the right pedal is for. You press it to achieve a desired speed.

The power band takes a little getting used to. Rev it a little higher, and it will really come alive.

Alternatively, hitting ECT will really wake it up at the expense of fuel economy.
