Dumbest statement in this thread (no offence).

I am old enough to remember when the gutless/torqueless Toyota 3.0L V6 was the “big truck motor”. I drove a 90s Mazda B2600 4x4 with the same 2.6L engine in it as many Mitsubishi cars and Dodge minivans. Truck was very “trucky” for what it was.

So what exactly qualifies a gasoline engine as a “car motor” or “truck motor”.......guess what....nothing.....not a damn thing.

My dealer screwed around with it. Even they were dumbfounded. Ended up giving me a '18 6spd Manual offroad at their cost with no destination cost added in and buying my '17 back for KBB. I basically was out no money. Much happier with the MT.

That Zero to 60 Site seems kind of bogus, do they test using the same timing equipment in the same places by the same people? Reminds me of taking a vehicle to several different dyno's and getting very different HP And Torque results. Just a quick scan through Edmunds shows a 2014 Tacoma doing 0-60 in 7.7 while the same test run by the same people show a 2018 running 0-60 in 8.1. Seriously what difference does a fraction of a second make, instead of bashing on Tacoma's, why not just go out and enjoy what you have!

Pahah Woah. I have the same truck and mine goes! I was sold on the test drive. It's like it has a turbo or power band that kicks in at the right rpm. Shit kicks my 2014 up and down the street anyways

I had a 2002 Dakota with the 4.7 (it was the new from the ground up 4.7, not the exploding one) and that thing went! 230hp and 290ft lbs of torque. Power to weight was awesome. Raced my dad in 2008 ram with a Hemi and beat him in a rough quarter. Not sure about a mile though
