Wrap the roof?

thinking about getting my roof wrapped and then possibly getting a roof rack. Idea is to protect the paint up there and provide a little extra protection.

Anyone else do this?

Any idea what something like this may cost?

If I read that right, you want to double wrap your roof?

 

Like a vinyl wrap.

 

There have been a few who have wrapped the roof. I plan to do it eventually, along with the hood.

But it sounds like you want to add two layers of wrap on the roof?

I think just one layer of good quality wrap should do it.

 

Nah just the one layer. I think I wrote it wrong.

 

I'd like to get this done too. I saw an American flag that was done in black on a ford and it really looked good.

 

I thought roof wrap and then a roof rack as well, but people like to do different things haha.

But yeah, a good quality one should last you a couple years.

 

@mesojdm wrapped the roof of his QS in a flat black before he put the roof rack on.

If you search his build thread you can see it wrapped with out the roof rack on.

 

satin black 1080 3m. I work at a steel factory with alot of smoke stack fallout. This protects cuz i get lazy to wash up there.

Would love to do something like this, or even paint. But that XM antenna complicates it since you have to remove the headliner to take that off.

where did you get the hood and roof wrap? was this a DIY or did you take it to an installer? It looks great, would love to do this to my Taco.

 

I’m definitely wrapping my roof before I install a rack. It won’t be easy to wax anymore, so my thoughts are that the vinyl will prevent scratching and allow me to just wipe it down occasionally. The only thing I’m not settled on is a color.

Im an avid detailer but hate having to get to the roof to lay paint protection and clean.
