Last brake and rotor replacement at 130k. Now at 167k. Never had rotor issues since buying new. The brakes are about 1/2 worn down.

One thing to note is that I bought a boat in 2019, and truck is used a lot for towing. Boat is a 16' crestliner, about 1,800 lbs w/a trailer that's probably 500 lbs. I definitely brake harder with the boat behind me.

I'm about to change out the brakes and rotors. Any recommendations on rotor brand and brakes?

Toyota gives us a lot of metal on these rotors.
I've used both the the Advanced Auto Platinum and PowerStop standard rotors with good luck.
I find the key is to not brake hard and then let the pads stay in one spot of the rotor too long.
Stop short, creep up, stop, creep up. That way you aren't sitting there heat soaking one spot on the rotor.
At least that has worked for me. And so far, I've never warped a set of rotors.

FWIW, most "warped" rotors are not warped. It's pad material transfer.
So good pads are a must too. It's not just rotors.

    4 run, 2 don't
    Easy, akebano pads.

This time around I went with EBC greens, but when these wear out I'll go with akebano like I did on the 4R.

Correct. Warped rotors needs to join the 3k mi OCI graveyard.

Seems reasonable to me. Lots of folks I ran with in solo II made the jump to EBC back in the day, but most didn't stay there real long. Not that they were bad, more that they didn't meet their marketing hype in competitive conditions.

Look for 2nd Gen Big Brake Kit -OEM parts- Part #s provided (INSTALLED) thread on this forum.
I did this mod on my 2015 TRD Sport about 2 years ago, I pull a trailer quite a bit and this really helped
reduce my stopping distance from speed. I replaced the splash shields, bought used calipers and rebuilt them,
and used Brembo pads and rotors and did a complete brake fluid flush as well as stainless steel flex hose replacement
at the same time. Still running the stock master cylinder and my brakes work great. Huge improvement over stock.
