My wife and I picked up a little Lexus NX300h from my grandpa. Its a nice red color with graphite wheels, but damn, it has a ton of chrome trim. I personally hate chrome so I was wondering, would it be worth it to wrap the chrome trim pieces in black? Is a wrap durable for these small intricate pieces? Is it even possible to wrap trim pieces?

I think red/black/graphite would be a nice color combo for this little ride and just wanting to see the best way to go about it. I've searched the internet for replacement NX black trim pieces but there doesn't seem to be much of a market out there for these vehicles. I've plastidipped my chrome badges on my Tacoma, but don't really want to plastidip large trim pieces of a Lexus.

    Thanks!

People have wrapped chrome with vinyl and or had it hydro dipped witch I think would be a better option.

A few weeks ago I black vinyl wrapped the chrome window trim on a new Camry. I bought a semi gloss 3M sheet and cut into strips. It's not as easy as the videos show, actually really tedious especially in the corners and if you tear the vinyl you have to peel it back off. But, it was way cheaper than a shop doing it at $500 and seemed better than taping everything off with Plastidip.

Did you remove the pieces to wrap them or leave them on the vehicle? Do you have a link to the vinyl you used?
