Well, this lady backed into me hard enough in the parking lot to move it sideways. Early assessment is both passenger doors need replacing, the (I can't remember the terms) rocker panel? - that part below the doors, the part between the rear door and the bed is crushed in pretty good, the right rear quarter panel, and also the rear rim/tire has gouges in it. Since I was moving at the time, the police deemed it to be her fault. USAA is my insurance. The body shop estimated around $8,500. And that's if there is no damage to the drive train/suspension/etc.

Was she racing in the parking lot? Sorry to hear this. Got some pics of the damage?

All I know is that it moved the truck sideways a bit. I have some and will post them later. It tore off her bumper and part of the back of her car. I was moving roughly 15 or so...usual parking lot speed.

IMG_23431.jpg IMG_23441.jpg Here are the pics I took. Please excuse the quality. Those were the only two I took. I didn't show the rear quarter panel or the other parts. The rim has some deep gouges in it and a small chunk of my tire is missing (it was cut). The pictures don't show the true damage to the doors, etc.

I know this isn't always consoling, but nobody got hurt, and sheet metal and paint can be replaced (...although I would probably contemplate murder too)

USAA has taken care of me in the past and I suspect they will treat you just the same. Hang in there Spiff, your spaceship will be better soon  .

I had a similar situation where a woman (who turned out the be the cleaning lady at the hotel I was staying at) hit me as she tried to pull into the spot next to me. I was in the truck waiting for my buddy when it happened. It wasn't that hard of a hit but I was pissed, until I got out an realized she only hit my sliders and there was no damage to my truck. It was a bit awkard the next morning when she recognized me the next day at the hotel. Apparently I was super nice about it (since there was no damange) and she was really appreciative of me not calling the cops.

You beat me too it @SnowroxKT

    Sorry to see that.

Also sorry to hear that somebody let Helen Keller get behind the wheel of an M1 Abrams in a parking lot.
