Sure seemed like a total loss from the photos in the OP...curious - why you went from a 2012 DC V6 to a 2011 AC 4cylinder...and, which version you plan to replace it with...?

    • I lost my job that was paying for my 2012. And working in the food industry it was hard to find a job that was paying even close to what I was making. If I had kept the 2012 it would have ended up getting repo'd. The 2011 was $85 cheaper a month and I figured it would get a little bit better fuel mileage. Now that I have a steady job again I've looked at a 2006 tundra. That was really nice. It fits me a little better because I'm 6'2 and have really long legs.

Congrats man! I'm glad that it worked out, even though we have all been watching you stress out about it over the past month. :) I bet it's a load off of your shoulders, though.

    Now a new thread where you're truck-hunting?!

Gotcha. Losing a job sucks, too. Did you end up seeing any appreciable difference in the 4 cyl. mileage vs. the 6 cyl.?

I didn't have the truck long enough to really see a difference. A tank of gas lasted longer so I'm sure I was getting a little bit better.

Since we're sharing. Here's my 07 wrecked in 2011. Doesn't look that bad but the final tally was $17,000 and 40 days in the body shop. The bed had a 2 inch crack so it was mandatory replacement. New quarter panel, one fender, crumple zone, front end, tie rod, bodywork and paint, then an airbag clock spring replaced right after I got it back. I still have it and have had no residual problems other than the bed bolts coming loose. It was valued at 22,000 for insurance replacement yet still wasn't totalled. I was annoyed at the time but it's a great truck and almost paid off now.

IMG_0139.jpg IMG_0140.jpg IMG_0141.jpg Here is my new truck. I'm really excited to finally be done with all this insurance stuff and headaches. I picked it up at Jerry Durant Toyota In Granbury, TX. That is an awesome dealership. They made the process so easy and There was no haggling over prices or anything.

Glad it all work out for you and great looking truck. Sound like the shop was the biggest problem to begin with. I got hit on 11/2 and truck got there the same day when I went in on 11/5 they had everything on the front end taken off waiting for the insurance guy. Hopefully mine will be repaired in a few more weeks.
