That sucks. I don't think it's bad enough to be considered totaled. Especially if the airbagsa weren't deployed. I would take it to a Toyota Collision center. They'll always original Toyota parts, never after market. They would also guarantee their work even if your insurance doesn't. Hope everything works out for you.

Could be that was what was replaced and they straightened out the rest of the frame rails to get it spec. I was pretty much seeing red throughout the process so he may have said that’s what was replaced as he was point to everything under the 4R

    My anecdotal data point-

I did not feel safe on the stock Firestones. I'm guessing those things dont react well to road-oil, any sign of light mist and I was fighting to keep it in the lane. My typical commute was me simultaneously cussing at - and praising - the stability control while it constantly tried to counter my countersteer. They hydroplaned worse than my 98 mustang, and at much lower speeds.

Oddly I bought the wildpeak AT3s after getting passed by decrepit 95-98 mustang and I noticed they weren't having traction issues like I was. Night and day difference. I have to be actively stupid to get them to break traction in the wet.

That rain is nasty as I drove in it today. In these trucks you are seriously risking it going over 60mph unless you have a camper shell or weight in the bed to keep it on the road.

I was going 60 on the 10fwy today and anything over that and i could feel the rear end getting squiggly

Glad you are ok. it could have been worse. and at least you were able to drive home.

That sounds much more possible. Might just want to double check your paperwork.

Thank you! lol. I didn't want to bad mouth KOs but I ran one set, one time. Terra Grapplers for me ever since. They have been great in all road and off road conditions. Everything from ice/snow to mud. Hell, I've been through mud with them that other people with M/Ts were getting stuck in.

I even googled to see if Nittos are bad in the rain and all I found was good stuff. Guy may have been trolling, who knows.

I also will be trying the Ridge Grapplers next, they look just barely more aggressive than the Terra Grapplers.

Insurance will fix it. Then it will leak continuously the rest of the time you own the truck, because nothing will ever seal up right ever again.

Had an accord that was damaged around the door like that during a hurricane. Sold it during the dry season. Pre-CarFax days, of course.

Get it fixed and then unload it it's a 2017 get new one I would never the same and never truly yours again it's been violated lol in my honest opinion a good truck is like a good woman until she cheats then she has to go fix and sell or trade in I would lol

Only thing is the trade in value may suck cause now it will have an accident on the history report. Not to mention that it would be a hard sell because the history would show that it was wrecked, fixed, then traded it. I know I wouldn't buy a truck with that history, and a dealer knows that. Now if it was wrecked, fixed, then kept a year or two, that would be a much easier sell. I'd get it fixed right and keep in until I was ready for something different.

    Could be totalled...
A lot of the cab structure is HSS and UHSS, Toyota says can not be repaired. Any attempt at sectioning or heat/cold straightening compromises the structure. It appears they're okay with replacing whole sections with emphasis placed on cutting and welding techniques.

Thank you for that information. I dropped it off at the shop yesterday and the adjuster said that there ws very little chance it would be totaled. He said that the "roof damage" was actually just the sail panel, so it shouldn't be a big deal, but there was a pinch in the door jam just below it, which I believe would be the 590 MPa, so I'll call this morning to verify that they'll use Toyota approve repair techniques, if it's even possible. They did, however, say that any repairs will use genuine, factory OEM parts.
