This is literally the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard
You know zero about what you are talking about.
The insurance company will try to under write the repair cost to save themselves some money.
That’s how they make money...take your premiums, and try to get off paying cheap when it comes time to pay claims.
They also don’t know anything about how to fix cars, so their estimates are garbage and mean nothing

The shop will write for everything they need to do to fix the truck, and fight with the I Durante to make them pay it.

Really?? If thats the case my Xterra was purchased for 10k, Caliber collision came back with a 7k number close to 70+% of its value. I'm sure that estimate would have been higher if the actual field claims agent came out. So the truck was " fixed" instead of being total'd. I mean were talking direct hit head on front end at 30 MPH with frame damage.

This is also some giant horse shit
Don’t ever go to the shop your Insurance recommends. Why do you think they are recommending them?! Because they will do it the cheapest and save the insurance the most
    Money.

They are trading discounts for referrals, and are generally making up for it by cutting corners.
These are the worst shops you can go to.
Take your car to a Toyota certified collision center only.

You took your car to caliber becaue your Insurance told you to take it there.
And then they gave your an insurance a discount for sending you.
Technically they are working for your insurance company.
They probably under wrote it on purpose to avoid it being a total loss so they could get that 7k and then butchered it fixing stuff that should be replaced.
It’s probably all fucked up. You should sell it before you get in another axident and die because it wasn’t fixed right

    Always in process
Every time I've gone thru insurance to fix something I drop the vehicle at the shop of my choice and give them my insurance info. They bring an adjuster in for an initial estimate.

Then once they start tearing parts off and assessing the damage they go back to insurance for more $$ to cover the actual costs.

I let my insurance deal with the other driver's insurance as well - that means I have to pay my deductible out of pocket and then get reimbursed when the two companies settle the claims.

I would edit the video to only contain the accident to exclude any questionable driving behaviors.

He was already in the intersection, if you get in while it’s yellow it’s not running a red

Not automatically true, this varies from state to state. In NV (which he was) you're ok if you were in the intersection before the light turns red. In CA, for example, you are running it if you're still in the intersection when the light turns red.

I'd personally edit out the first part just for brevity.

Don’t you mean “I can’t imagine a situation in which I wasn’t 100% NOT at fault in this case.”? Otherwise, you just admited 100% fault! Those double negatives can get tricky! :)

Hope it goes better, you should have been camping. I’m impressed that your RTT stayed on well, shows how safe they are on the rack. How many anchor points did you bolt it down with, and is it OK?
