Well, less than a month from getting rear ended I slid of the road and nailed a guard rail. Go me. I took it to a body shop that did a great job on my wife's toyota to see how bad it was.....they came back with $9k in damage. My biggest concern is my front right wheel was pushed back 1-2" and when taking it out of 4Hi it sounded rough....more like a sledgehammer to the transfer case would be more like it. I have 80k on the truck and it seems the third gens nose dive in value esp with a collision on the carfax. Im stressing out about when they get my truck fixed that theres an underlying issue in my drive train from the wheel situation. Its never sounded like that before, tested if a few times and it did it every time. Has anyone had a collision in their third gen that was this pricey? Any suspension or driveline issues?

Many have posted here with $20K+ in damages. Your value will be no worse or better than any other wrecked vehicle. You are right to be stressed... In all my years I have never witnessed a vehicle appreciate in value because it was in an accident.
As far as noise, tell the shop and adjuster. They will make sure to check it and fix it if it was damaged in the accident. Good luck.

Bummer, that's why we call them accidents, at least you not paying on you for an injury. 80 thousand on it, fix it, off road it, have fun.

Do these as fast as possible:

    Get it fixed.
    Pay it off.
    Sell it private.

Fat chance a private buyer even pays for a Carfax report and there are many folks that would salivate at a decently-priced Taco w 80k on it.

Bronco comes out soon might end up being good timing for you if Ford doesn't screw it up.

    Reserected from the dead.
I bet you broke a speed sensor. The transfer case always bangs when going back to 2 wd when a speed sensor is bad.

Im sure you bend an a arm. It's supposed to do that in an accident. Still a cheap repair.

That's a good starting point to look in to when I get it back. Both upper and lower control arms and the spindle were trashed. Didn't even think a speed sensor being screwed too ...

Got the truck back and everything seems normal. The body shop did screw up a few things that weren't worth splitting hairs over. Hopefully long term everything stays peachy.
