Can you edit a side by side from both angles synced together?

Not with the software I have at work. I might be able to do it with iMovie at home though.

The camera in my window wasn't running at the time of this wreck as I'd already called it a day so we only have the one angle this time.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Next up on the list, parabolic microphone? I'd love to hear the delightful commentary from the street.

    This^

So, does anyone think I can improve the sound recording if I put a small lapel microphone pointed back into a plastic bowl that's attached to the window?

Yeah. You'd need a 0° pickup pattern. Almost like a shotgun microphone. Lavaliere microphones will pick up too much ambient noise from everywhere.

Audacity is good if you want to start working more with audio and you want something free.

Well, if I do an external mic (external from the cam), it will have to be on the inside of the window. I could put collector on the window and point a mic towards the intersection. That would probably pick up more sound, but it won't be great.

If I could find a mic that transmitted wirelessly I'd stick it on the crosswalk post. :D

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Then it would get smashed every 2 weeks by cars. Looks like it has been knocked out numerous times now.

We get slow periods. For instance we didn't have a single smash in February this year.

Be patient, they will come. :D

The intersection was pretty flooded, which forced people to slow down. Now that the rain has let up we may see some action. Just have to watch the live feed though. With the roads being wet I won't hear the screeching tires.
