Bro I’m telling you. If you read this and your super ODC like me you have a problem. Getting it fixed is one thing. Getting it painted to match might take several tries. It’s the biggest panel on your truck, front and center and sunlight will hit it all day. It has to match your fenders. Example. I had my front bumper panel replaced and painted. It took 2 repaints to get it “perfect” unless you leave the truck with them. Don’t just drop the hood off. If you have the metallic gunmetal like me there is the flake pattern ( direction and light, med or heavy) and like I said the hue ( color spectrum) of how “gray” it is. Is it more blue or green. If you go in the sunlight and look, you stick hood doesn’t match the panels perfect already because they were painted differently. The hood is metal and the panels are fiberglass/plastic so the materials are different. So from the getgo it’s not perfect. Now most ppl don’t notice. I didn’t until the body shop pointed it out and for my truck match they literally have 7 different pattern choices and find the closest they could.

Now if you weren’t OCD then you wouldn’t have read this far and if you did then just understand perfect is chasing a leaf in the wind. Understand 150 plus paint and body another 300. So your closing in on 500

No, its actually because growing up everything had to be done in a very specific way. From cleaning to yard work etc. I have to do certain things now as an adult to satisfy certain things. Im not being a picky asshole. And likewise...if im spending my money, im allowed to be a picky asshole, so who gives a shit

    Simple math.

Is the cost to purchase a used hood & repair/paint = less $$ than the cost of a new hood & paint?

    Step one. Take a hammer.
Step two. Go knock a dent in your hood.
Step three. Hide it with a deflector.
Step four. Hang head in shame for thinking you wouldn't notice an imperfection in a new truck.

Smh. Just don't understand the fascination with something that when perfect is still 100% fake and 100% useless. Better mods for the money.

Take that money go buy a puppy, a new gun, done fishing rods, your girl some new jewelry. All of those well cost less and bring more enjoyment than a fake scoop on a hood with a very real dent.

    Just my $0.02

Dont want pets because were too busy with work, kids and travel. I surf, don't fish and have plenty related to that hobby. Hawai'i isn't the easiest place to buy more guns. Wife has PLENTY of jewelry. Its the same as any other mod...form and/or function. Some people want to look and perform, some just want looks, some just want performance. I dont understand whats so hard to comprehend.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Id say go ahead if, and only if, you are willing to flatten it out yourself, coat the cracked paint with some primer and touch up pen of your truck color, and then smack one of these on to cover it... assuming it actually does cover it.

A repaint will not match unless you blend the front fender as well. You’ll also have a nice orange peel finish on the hood and nothing else. Don’t paint it...

And I understand hoods with scoops don’t come by every day, let alone in Hawaii.

It’s your truck do what you want to do. Don’t let anybody else tell you different unless they want to make the payment. End of story

No, just about the easiest color to match. Now get into the metallic colors and chances are paint work is going to be necessary for match.

The fake hood scoop is the most Toyota thing about the Tacoma. It's big grilles on the camry/avalon. It's the lexus spindle grilles. It's sport models with stick on ground effects. It's the little fake vent that hangs off the back of a Camry taillight.

I like my Tacoma. But I don't know of another car company that produces as much cringe as a matter of course.

If you don’t buy this hood Today; tomorrow the neighbours cats will be on your hood and get startled resulting in scratches on your hood.

You’ll try to get back in on this $150 deal and it will be gone.... to another tacoma world member.

DAA0E771-A9FD-45F7-9B34-773B95FC721F.jpg And it is a non functioning hood scoop. It just looks bad ass. Posts about cutting holes in it to make it functional showed it served no benefit because of the location the airflow actual hits the hood and goes over it. But for me it made the Tacoma our shine the tundra and any other truck on the street
