Wrong grease?

Just changed the oil on the 4Runner and thought it would be a good idea to grease the drive shaft (ha ha). I did not have a grease gun suitable for the zerks, so I went out and picked one up. I filled it with Lucas lithium Red 'N Tacky #2. Later I realized it is NGLI rated but no number following.
Will this be too soft to use?
Also I saw noted that the double cardan joint uses a moly fortified NGLI 2 grease. How many folks use a separate grease for this? and what is the advantage mechanically?
Is the Red N Tacky okay to use or should I ditch it?

damn I use water proof bearing grease. Thats what is usually in my greese gun. N =ot sure if thats good or not

 

I just use lithium base nlgi #2 for everything

I use mobil 1 on everything...from wheel bearings, UCA zerks, Tie rod zerks, BJ zerks, axle zerks. No complaints so far. time will tell
