Wrong O2 sensor?

I'm doing both afr and O2 sensors rn. The front one matched the replacement part. But the rear sensor looks different. It's a denso ordered from rock auto. I got the part number from the denso website. Should I install this sensor anyway? Could it be possible they changed design since 2000? New one is on the left in pics. The new one is on the bottom in the pic with the plugs. New part number is

Looks like the connector and flange is the same so I reason that it is a revision. It's a narrowband so they really aren't that complicated. I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

 

You're good, as long as the part # is right, you have no worries. Parts change appearance, especially over 20 years.

 

You're comparing oe toyota to Denso. Manufacturers will vary slightly.

 

If you don't get any CEL then run it. The front one is more critical. Rear one is just to check the cat is doing it's job.

 

Did the new O2 sensor come with gasket and rubber body plug ?
It looks right, laser etched product ID.
Is the old one laser etched ?

 

The new one comes with a rubber body plug. Both plugs are laser etched. Different numbers but ones an OE number so I'm not worried about that.

Sensors are in and cel cleared. Hopefully it doesn't come back and I don't need to replace a cat. Not sure if the cel was supposed to go away after replacing but w/e.
