Do you come on here just to argue? I have to option of keeping them, returning them, or if someone locally is interested, telling the vendor and see if that is a solution for them. There is no conflict here. I have options and I'll work it out with the vendor. And you aren't local so you are not interested.

Them charging your card is the beginning of a contract which does not conclude until the contract is fulfilled and you either have the items you contracted to purchase in your possession, or have items you will take in stead of the items originally agreed upon. So either you accept these items as completion of the contract which makes them yours legally and sell them locally... Or you decline to accept these items to fulfill the contract and they are not your legally to sell. You don't get to do both as the gentleman above me pointed out.

And if you're so sure that the company will make it right, as you've said a dozen or so times, why are you even bothering on the off chance someone locally wants exactly what you have right this second? Isn't that just going to complicate things needlessly? The guy originally responding was just commenting on your post because it was on frontpage, sorry we're not from Louisiana, I guess (not really.)

Because they are already here, they are big to ship, and someone locally might want. This is a forum.

But they aren't yours to sell. No company will tell you to go sell them for their cost when they can get them back cheaper and sell at full price.
You clearly have no idea how retail works. I sell many things for my company and ship, and would laugh at you when you suggested this.

BTW, the rims you want are hideous compared to what you got. They did you a favor.

Hey... I admire your ability to think beyond the norm. I'm not interested in the wheels/tires and am in Utah, but I don't know why you are getting grief from others. I've also made similar deals with retailers that made a mistake, and they didn't seem insulted by fixing their own problem by giving a discount.

    Goodonya...

OP can sell the ones in his possession for what he paid for them and place another order for the ones he really wants.

Aside from bending the TW forum rules about selling… What am I missing??

I appreciate it. Strange how this simple thing turned.

Giving a shout out for Performance Plus Tire. Turns out they had the item numbers mixed in their system. The ones I ordered are back ordered for quite a while. I picked different rims of the same brand. They are shipping the new rims, and paying for the tires to be mounted and balanced onto those, and I'll be shipping the others back to them in those boxes the new ones come in. Of course, unless someone local want to buy them before I ship them back. They are fine with that. From beginning to end they were great to deal with, fixed the mix-up without a problem, and they came in $100 less than Tire Rack in the first place for the exact same order. My sales guy was Joel, and I highly recommend them. Also, they have been a family owned business in California for over 80 years (I believe that was the number he said), and they have a couple warehouses around the country in addition to their super store in Cali, in Nebraska and Tennessee. They will be my go-to in the future.

Very cool... Thanks for getting back with the follow-up.

I have to say that I will never go to Tire Rack again for wheels. I bought a mounted set and had problems with the rims, and Tire Rack kept putting me off with suggestions until the warranty was up. Even with the documented history they ended up denying the warranty after the date passed on the warranty expiration. I didn't expect that. They were very nice in their stalling tactics, and then they took off their mask.

That is good to know. Actually my last two sets of tires, I went into local shops and had them match Tire Rack pricing, so I haven't bought from them in a long time, but I will be wary of that in the future. But I will definitely give Performance Plus first consideration given the great experience I had with them. Mistakes happen, and they were very transparent and proactive to get it right.

Delta World Tire has been my local go-to for same reasons. I use the one on Vets in Metairie when I need new tires. They will match/beat anyone else and have been great. Heard good things about Discount Tire outside of Baton Rouge as well.

Discount tire is very competitive but they are stretched out.... don’t really understand why there are 2 in Baton Rouge and nare a 1 in NO metro area.
