Holiday Blues- Cadillac Escilade broke my Taillight. Need to replace driver side tail light and finding it difficult to find a cost effective way to do it. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I would love to make them pay. Didn't realize the damage till I was home and the truck was in the garage. I guess I am stuck. No luck on ebay. I guess I will keep trying.

car-part.com. it will search yards across the country. found a local yard that let them go for $100/each, and they were brand new takeoffs!

Thanks yosh...I have car-part.com searching...What's the deal with not being ablt to replace just the plastic cover? It seems like there should be a way to replace just the lens cover like any othr vehicle...The dealer want $219 for the light...seems like being raked over the coals.

After watching other posts this seems like a common occurance to crack the lens cover. Mine is smashed, but the lights are fine. Anyone have experience with other vehicles with the led type lights with a similar cover? Will there be a replacement cover in the near futyre or is that a pipe dream. I would like to spend the money adding cruise or something not fixing a light cover.

    Any ideas?

the old tacos you could replace just the lense...but not anymore. i think its because that way, people could open them up, then complain they leak...toyota had to seal them completely up to make it idiot proof...failed and fogging BHLM you see here all the time just prove my point!!

EDIT (forgot you wanted the LED light): dont pay the $212 light. also, i picked up a set of 09 tails for $100/each at a place i found on car-part.com. also, trdparts4u.com has them for $143 new last time i checked. PN 81560-04160, or 81550-04160 (cant remember what PN is the drivers)

well I found a light on car-part.com and bit the bullet. I hope it works out. Should have it shortly and will let you know. Thanks again yosh. If the part is a "NICE" as the salesman states I will be saving a bundle. A little nervous buying sight unseen from a dismantling company.

cool. yea, the only reason i spent the $200 on them was because i was able to check out the lights in person, but you should be alright.

$125 to the door. Way better than the dealer. The install on these are so simple. I was psyched to get my truck back to "new "condition.
