just do the deck plate mod and use a good high flow filter.....way cheaper and better results than a cai!;)

supercharger is the only performance mod worth while on the 1rst gens, everything else is really just a waste of time and money

Some people have good results (on a smaller scale) with quality CAIs. I mean ones that are TRUE CAIs that pull air from away from the engine. The K&N doesnt do this. If you really want one do it right

if I had a 1st gen I would do the deckplate and leave it at that. It out performs CAI's for tacomas. I do not know any CAI that would help beyond that. This is the exact reason I have not put a CAI on my 2nd gen, there is just no dyno readings to prove they really do anything. A deckplate with a high flow drop in id your best bet. Maybe some 1st gen owners can correct me if I am wrong

you are very correct. the deckplate on the first gen tacomas dyno better than a tacoma with an aftermarket cai.................................and thats dyno results. seat of the pants dyno, just because someone may "feel" more power with something they added on, doesnt cut it compared to actual dyno numbers.
