I'm looking to buy a camper shell for a 2003 Tacoma Xtra cab. I'm located in Missouri (63090) and would be willing to drive a reasonable distance (2.5 hours max) to pick it up. Looking for an A.R.E., Leer, or Snugtop. I would prefer a shell that is Mystic Gold Metallic in color (Photo of truck in that color below). Let me know what you have and how much you want for it.

    Thanks!

sourdough44, you are 8.5 hours away and kstaco, you are about 7 hours away. Thanks for replying to my post, but you guys are a little too far away. Still looking for a camper shell within 2.5 hours of 63090. Thanks!

Look for topper stores. I am also in MO, (63129). I looked for almost 4 months for a used top before i came across a used topper store in louisville ky, picked mine up in great shape for $400. I had to paint it but it sure beat a $1200 new one. Lucky for you, my fiance lives in louisville, and i trip down there about once a month. If you find one and want it maybe we can work something out. Lemme know

Thanks Tyler. I actually drive through Louisville, KY at least two weekends a month in the Spring and Fall on my way to and from the Red River Gorge, so I could swing by the used topper store on my way back some time and have a look. I'm actually going to be using the camper shell for camping, so I'd like to get one with some extra headroom and screened windows. How much did it cost to get your top painted?

I also got mine for camping and could probably tell you every inch or 75% of the trails at RRG! I Grew up backpacking with friends and family there and take regular trips with my fiance.
Cost me $200 but a buddy did it. I can't imagine it costing more than that anywhere else. I actually rocked mine the ugly burgandy color for almost 6 months before it became an eyesore.
When i picked mine up they had 3 that fit our trucks, mine has the pop open side windows (no screens), sliding front glass, full covered interrior with coat bar. They also put brand new shocks on the back glass and installed a new brake light for no cost.
    Best of luck!

    Just a suggestion...

Download CraigsPal...and search Craigslist in your surrounding areas.

    http://craigspal.com/

Using CraigsPal you can search at whatever distance from where you live.

Just looking on Chicago Craigslist lately, I have seen 2-3 in the past few weeks, all for around $400.
