    If you tried to paint it and messed up the paint, just slap on a coat of this:

    (Duplicolor Bed Coating)
    No lie.. it will cover up any paint defects and scratches. Thats what i used on mine.. TONS more durable than paint too.

    Keep in mind though, it will be a rough surface.. not smooth
