Truck was broken into yesterday, got the stereo and a few other things. Want a console vault to keep valuables in.

Anyone got one for sale, or know of a killer deal or coupon?

    Thanks

    Matt

Got mine for ~$260 delivered. Looked around a while but everybody seemed to have a similar price.

Why don't you just buy the $4 lock from Lowes and install it on your console. No need to spend hundreds of dollars on a vault.

There are a few write ups here.....believe me it works great. I keep my 9mm in there all the time and when I park at the movies, I put my sunglasses, GPS and radio in there and lock it. :D

If someone goes through the trouble of breaking into the truck, I can't imagine a $4 lock is going to stop them from getting into the consol. It's a nice idea but not really gonna prevent anything once they're in the truck. Just sayin...

Have you tried to break into one with the $4 lock?......it's a lot harder than you think. If you're thinking along the same lines.... then what would keep a thief from breaking into vault? It's a nice idea to spend over $200 I guess if it makes you sleep a little better. The $4 lock works for me. :D Just Sayin.....

Nope, just figured a pry bar could either break the hinge on the center consol top or make the lock go flying. Might be wrong, I'm not up on breaking into cars

The $250 ones I saw bolt through the bottom of the box so you can't pry them out and are a thick, heavy metal box similar to a house safe. Without a torch or angle grinder they'd be tough to break into.

Most "car" break ins are just dumb ass's leaving their car unlocked...so yea a 4 dollar lock seems sensible.

I personally feel better leaving a firearm in the vault than with a cam lock. I was wondering if I'd regret the purchase but so far I've been pretty satisfied.

I am aware of the write-ups, and have looked into different options, including this. Thanks for the suggestion

    Not the case, but thanks...

Of course, it wouldnt really be a "break in" if the vehicle was unlocked and they used the door handle, but thats beside the point, I guess.
