    sold....
Euro is like a driving light and pencil beam is a straight "spot light" that shines way down the road

    I have 2 euro and 2 pencil,

the 2 pencil have HID units in them, after market from one of the major distributors on the net,

Ran them for about a year on my truck, im getting ready to sell my truck so am stripping what i can off of it,

400 for all of them, they are in good shape, glass is good, as is paint, even throw in some wiring and connections / switches for them..

Im new on here, just registered today, been lurking for a while as im considering a 4runner / tacoma as my truck..

Im on a few other forums with same name, as well as ebay to give credit to who i am..

'Euro' is a newish term for 'Driving Beam'... There are basically 3 types of beams:

FOG/ CORNERING : Short but very wide area illuminated. Mount as low as possible.

DRIVING/ EURO: Like what your headlights try to illuminate, the road and some of the area to either side. Mount in the front bumper/ grille area.

PENCIL/ SPOT: Long, narrow beam lights just the road and way down it. Mount as high as possible.

Having a combination offers the most, but pick for the needs you have.

I have two Hella 4000 Pencils in the center and two Kragen HID Euros on the sides of the Hellas.

The above photo shows the Hellas with 100 watt halogen bulbs. The photo below is after I had them converted to 35 watt HID bulbs (5000ºK temp. color):

the pencil beams with HIDS light up the road a couple miles it seems,

its visible as far as the road / distance goes..

The euro ones have sharp cutoffs, they light to the sides decent but no throw what so ever..

Perhaps the euros you have are only 55 watt halogen? Halogen off road lights (euro or pencil) should be at least 100 watts...

Better of course would be HID 35 watt (or 55 watt). 35 watts of HID is about as bright as 130 watts of halogen, and because you can pick a brighter color with HID (like pure white 4300 to 5000ºK), you get even more usable light than halogen (which is between 3500 and 4000ºK or yellow-white).

Avoid 6000ºK or higher color temp, as they are actually less useful (dimmer) on the road being too blue in color. (6000 with a 55 watt HID bulbs may be okay, as they report the higher wattage washes the too blue look that 6000 has, with 35 watts)

i only have 2 of the euro beam,

for mine i got two of each, i put the spot / pencil beams in the center pointing straight forward,

then i had the 2 euro / cornering beams pointing to the side,

and i had two KC daylighters which are still on there..

If you have 3 tabs on your bar,

It would probably work pretty darn well having the two pencil beams on the outside, and the one euro in the middle,

I believe that fog lights and cornering lights are not the same as they are two different beam patterns.
