is that a full size? I'd rather have a 9mm or a .40 if I was gonna have that large of a gun.

so i was thinking about picking up a keltec for the woman, but im reading there is no external safety?
i read in this thread, the ruger has an external safety? but then another poster said the ruger DOES NOT?

ill check those out, arent those like double the price of a keltec or a ruger?

i know she will eventually carry with one chambered, so we are opting for one with a safety.

looking for something a little cheaper hopefully..
this pistol will be left in the vehicle occasionally when needed, and it will be her first gun as well. rather keep it on the cheaper side since im sure it will be beat up quite a bit. as she will be learning with it.

yeah thats what i have been reading... and because of their weight, they are very prone to limp-wristing.

she isnt an old hand at shooting, she is still new to it.
she will be taking several classes and be 100% comfortable with her weapon before she will carry it.

i have the walther ppk .380 and i wanted to give it to her as it is smaller and fits her hand well, but it has failure to feed issues and if its going to be a carry gun, the thing needs to be 100% reliable.

ill definitley be looking into the ruger.
im going to stop by the gun shop tonight and check some out in person.
    thanks for your opinions man.

Are you thinking of a pocket .380 for the woman? They are cute and light but are snappy little guns

My wife is has a good amount of firearm experience, shoots well, and HATES my tcp. Even with her best Kung fu grip she can hardly hold on to it, and has cycling issues with it. She just doesent have the forearm strength for it

The tcp, lcp and p38t don't have external safeties

    What are you looking for?

No one has mentioned the Bersa Thunder CC. Its a Walther PPK clone. Reviews are great on it, very affordable. Has a manual safety and hammer fired. Good gun to check out, it is what my wife will be carrying once she obtains her CCW permit.

I have fired and liked the bersa, it's a decent little gun. If you were going to carry something that heavy there are some really good 9mm options as well
