Someone backed into my truck and took out one of the aftermarket lights. I'd rather have OEM anyway, so I'm looking for a set.

    ETA:
Still looking! The pair that I purchased (pictured farther down in this thread) are are apparently only usable on '95.5-'00. I need a pair of '01-'04 tail lights ASAP!

When I can locate the correct pair, the older '95.5-'00 pair will become available.

aren't identical to the aftermarket ones I have or the ones I need? If you mean the latter, do they still fit an '04?

This is his WTB thread, feel free to PM me if you would like information

I was referring to them not being identical in style to the OEM tail lights for a 01-04 Tacoma. Below is a picture of my truck with the driver's side one being the 01-04 and the passenger side being the OEM 98-00 tail light (in which I am offering up). The owner before me put the black pieces on, they are easily removed because it is only double sided tape holding it on. I never removed the covers because I wanted the 01-04 OEM tail lights. They are complete, functional taillights in very good condition. And Yes, they will fit your truck without any modifications.

Just curious, and don't want to thread just but.....

How are the 01-04 tail light assemblies different from the earlier (96-00) versions? Why don't they work?

Take a look at the pic in IamHimeros's post above...
you can see that the upper, middle & lower 3 portions of the tail light on the driver side bubble outwards.
95-00 tail lights are a flat surface from top to bottom.
I can't speak for "why don't they work", they might or might not - if they DO it might just be a personal preference
