In order to mod, you have to have the moneys... My bank account is an asshole.
Does anyone know of anything out on market or that someone bought and doesnt like, something that would make the stock hood scoop for 05+ tacoma work as an actual hood scoop and suck air form the scoop into the engine

    Thanks,
    Rob

ya i mean i can make something with materials from my local home depot or lowes but i'd rather buy something like an air intake cuz then if something happens i'll have someone to blame and yell at

No, I believe this has been attempted and failed because it's a negative pressure area so you can't make it a functional scoop. URD makes an intake that sucks air from in front of the radiator and that's about as close to a true cold air intake as you're going to find.

If you do a simple search you will find 578942676589206844 threads saying it won't work as a ram air. Some run their intake to it anyway but there is no benefit.

    the list is growing
might I say though... a mesh insert right there is way cooler then the stock plastic, and if there is no real benefit... dont even hook it up to your intake... is it not similar to doing the grill mesh? (appearance only mods)

Volant makes an intake scoop that goes at the top of the grill, just under your hood and hooks up to there volant CAI. Havent seen any proof of the benefit though!
