I'm looking for a towing hitch and the things I'd need to do some towing, not sure what all I'd need... I'm located in SE Virginia and am willing to take a minor roadtrip if need be...

Try Wal-Mart. Reese makes a kit with a 2" receiver/2" ball and hitch pin for ~$30. I have the 3.25 drop hitch and it will tow most trailers level. You might also need a 7-pin to 4/5 pin wiring converter plug. those two things should run under $50 and tow most trailers.
