Im near harrisburg. I think the transmission is unrelated. I am replaceing the positive and ground wires from the battery and I am going to rebuild my starter while I am at it. It looks like it is the original starter. I found a complete wiring diagram for the truck. So after I replace the starter. I f any problems remain the wiring diagram tells everything electrical in the truck and how to test each circuit. I'll try to attach it. If you are anywhere near Harrisburg, Dillsburg to be specific I sure would appreciate some help. Trying to save money any way I can and I drive this truck to some remote places by myself during hunting season, need to have it running good.

I am not that far away !! A hour and 1/2 maybe more I don`t mind the ride .

I can make you Custom cables it never hurts to upgrade those as well as rebuild the starter

I have been using Marine Terminals for about 20 years on every thing .

With this liquid brine it gets in every place and creates all kinds of havoc

Shoot me a message we can work something out

Hey Wyoming09 thanks for the offer! I have been busy at work for the last couple of days. For an up date I have managed to remove my starter and am waiting for the new contacts and such to rebuild it. I made all new wires for positive and ground and used solder on the ends, wrapped in rubber tape, then electrical tape. Ill post an update if all these repairs and replacements don't fix it!!!

Finally got all my parts to rebuild the starter, rebuilt it and rewired the positive and negative wires. Works good as new. Now to fix my windsheild washer fluid tank....
