That gives you about 5 hours of sleep after you check. No problem. :bored:

Upper control arm bolts are tight. Sway bar mount bolts are tight, upper shock mounts are tight, lower shock bolts are tight. It was creaking a bit less today, but definitely still there. Sounds almost like a thin metal on metal binding sound. Work got in the way of taking it to my mechanic and putting it on the hoist. Everything I tightened is also new (and already tight) so this one has me puzzled.

The only thing I can think of is I put new ome skid plates on and the rear one under laps the front skid. But they are tight and shouldn't flex but maybe they are flexing off road and creaking. It's my last resort.

I just tried to take out the lower strut bolts to smear antiseize on them and they won't budge. Need to get the truck on a lift so I can get more leverage with my 2' breaker bar. My 1/2" impact gun won't touch them!

The ole forward backward method worked for my strut bolts. One ooga forward, one ooga backwards, and repeat till out!

I'll give it another try when I get some time. Doing a few yard projects before the big 150th b day celebrations up here. My mechanic I usually go to is gone until august.

I just got finished taking the lower shock bolts out (61 ft lbs my ass) and smeared anti seize all over them. Still have the creaking/clicking sound but seems to be a lot better. Also noticed my new skid plate was bent on the front drivers corner up against the frame cross member (where tow hook mounts). So I bent it back straight. I'll know better next time I take it for a drive how it sounds.

Just got back from a drive and it's no longer creaking. It was either the lower shock bolts (only 3 months old) or that bent piece on my skid plate binding against the crossmember. It'll make a faint creek if I flex it hard, but very minor.
I'm just glad it's quiet now.

These newer trucks make so much more noise than my first gen. Almost considering a muffler and some ignorance

My 1st Gen was a more solid truck (well except the rotten frame) once I ditched the sway bar that truck road so smooth.

Just an update, my creaking is the same as it's always been. I took off my skids plates and no difference. Loosened my rad support mounts and re torqued to spec (33 fl lbs or whatever I read on here) no difference.

Not really sure what is making this sounds. I can't see my lca bolts seizing in 3-4 months and they were brand new.

The only thing not replaced were my uca's but they seem tight, and the bolts are definitely tight.

I know I'm tired of crawling under the truck and messing around with things that don't fix the problem, usually in the dark after work.

I'll take it to my mechanic when he's back in august I guess and see what he thinks.

I wish I could be there to track it down for you. I'm like a drug dog in a crack house when it comes to foreign noises on my truck. If it's not supposed to be making a noise, my nose hairs twitch. o_O

It's a 2 person job, sometime I'll get someone in the drivers seat I trust and stab the brakes going in forward and reverse to replicate the creaking sound (metal sound) while I'm under the front of it.

I tried her driving but I just kneeled in front of it. She's a few weeks from having our 2nd son so you know hormones and such might make her want to run over a part of me.

I believe he already replaced the bushings and links. I did the same on mine while hunting down what was causing the squeaking on my truck.
