Possibly, though unlikely. Lubing will eliminate the LCA as the problem if the sound persists. And it's something that should be done anyway.

Do them one bolt at a time. Mark the cams to make sure you maintain alignment.

I'll have to drop the skid plate again. I knew about the lca issue, but forgot to mention to the tech doing the frame swap to put anti seize on the bolts. Had a lot going on with various other issues that popped up during frame swap.

After hearing video I withdraw my suggestion of brake slap. However it certainly sounds high pitched, perhaps a skidplate/heat shield rattle? I had shot lca's on my 07 and though it was likely different circumstances it was a loud clunk.

I couldn't hear it well from your video. Sounds more frequent and quieter than my experience with seized LCA bushings. There's only one real way to eliminate them as the source of the sound though.

I don't have anything new to add as a result of watching the video. I hope you find it's something simple.

Right near the end you can hear it better. iPhone picks up a lot of wind noise considering I was going 5km/h or 3mph.

I'll try and get a video of the forward stop, reverse stop clicking. Shouldn't be as much wind noise doing that to replicate the sound.

Also if I I jack the front end up (one side) it'll make the creak/click/pop sound once it gets jacked up, tire almost off the ground. And when I let the jack down it'll do it again.

This made me rule out heat shield/skid plate, but I did also remove 2 front skid plates and noise still persisted.

This is typical of LCA bushings taking a shit. Anti seize them while you can. I had to cut mine off and replace both LCAs.

Ok. I will anti seize them. Surely after a few months they will come apart easily. I'll mark the cam adjusters and see what happens.

Not sure if someone suggested this yet but a very similar noise was happening to me in my old truck and it was mud had gotten up in between the rotor and the piece of metal that directs air to cools the rotor (forgot what its called). So the dirt and rocks scrape the rotor usually when backing up easy fix just hit it untill all the dirt falls out or pop the rotor off and clean it

You mean the dust shield? Mine is mostly rusted at the bottom and I've bent it away from rotor.

Since there is a nexus with the frame replacement, I would take it to Toyota to diagnose the noise for you. Should be free. If the noise was not present before the frame replacement, it's definitely something related to the job. I suspect the LCA bushings; the sound is very similar to what I had. I replaced the OEM LCA's with Dorman LCAs and now have no more noises or slips from the front end. It was the rear bushings that were toast for me. Of course, I had 150K on them ...

I had a deep creak/squeak that was driving me nuts. Replaced LCA's, front body mounts, soaked pb blaster in cab spot welds, cleaned and anti seized shock hardware. Still squeaked. Got new struts all around. Went to pull my old ones and found this. I'm willing to bet my creak/squeak was this dirt/grit being pulverized between the bottom of my coil and the metal spring seat on the strut. I had powerwashed it but clearly not well enough!

I was thinking about this too. I hit mine with pressure washer as well then sprayed penetrating oil on that area. I may have to disassemble the coils and clean them as well. I'll have to wait to do that as I don't have a spring compressor

I powerwashed and soaked them in penetrating oil. Very easy to disassemble could on truck, there's a video on here if you search. I was surprised how much grit was still caught in there. I'm thinking I might add some foam around there to prevent stuff from getting in.

    1. Block rear wheels
    2. Break Lugnuts loose
    3. Remove wheel and place jackstand under frame
    4. Place jack under lower control arm knuckle. I jack it up a half inch to an inch so spring is compressed slightly.
    5. Remove two 19mm bolts attaching the lower control arm knuckle.
    6. Remove top strut center nut.
    7. Use jack so slowly lower control arm until no more tension on coil.
    8. Take your time and you'll have zero issues. I swapped front struts this way in about an hour. I've done it 5 times or so now. Much quicker than spring compressors.

Thanks for reminding me of this method. Forgot all about it.

Did this remove your creaking sound?

I can't say for certain as I replaced the struts all together. That being said, my old ones were not blown or leaking, indicating they were indeed functioning normally. When I finished side one and took it around the block my squeak/creak got significantly reduced. Finished side 2 and completely gone. It's free and relatively quick to check / eliminate. I will be checking this area first if it returns.

No I didn't, but they are factory and not greasable, or are they?
