I did not find any helpful info in post #10.

 

The pic in post 10 shows the hose you asked about connecting to a hard line. Because if its location and the fact that it is a hard line, I would suspect that hard line runs along the frame rail to the top of the fuel tank where you will find more emissions control components.

 

Post 10 seemed to discuss lines in a different spot than I had circled. But I will follow your comment to see if there is a hard line somewhere that is missing it's connection to the soft line I have that is dangling loose. I didn't see it on my first couple of peeks.

 

It connects to a hard line that runs along the edge of the top of your radiator that then goes back to another soft line that connects to your intake tube just after your MAF sensor. So in short it goes all the way across the engine bay to the air intake tube.

It's not the line that goes across the radiator; that one is connected. It's the one that is below that, and drops down. So I think the potential for a connection to a fuel line might make sense ...
I'll check next week when I get back to the project and will post when I figure it out.

 

Oh shoot youre right, i should of payed more attention to the circle you had there!

 

So i went out and looked at mine and just like it shows in post #10 it connects to a hard line there after a few inches. Maybe yours is set up differently fur some reason but thats how mine are...both trucks even.

@bry838 Yeah, in post #10 I see that, mine must be set up differently. I'll be in the garage on Monday doing some wrenching and will follow up with what I see.

 

Throughout the years there have definitely been a couple changes to the evap system on our rigs so yours could very well be different...

Hell, i just up till a few months ago didnt know that some of the younger trucks have their canister up under the bed by the gas tank and there is nothing in the engine bay for that system. Just an empty spot there.

 

There is a metal line going to the fuel tank, that is where it goes.
My 95 build date 6/95 , has the evap. canister set up just like the 2 wheel drive models .
Fyi, the evap. You guys have posted is the California spec. Style.
Reason I know this , when I connect my scanner to the OBD port, it tells me it is a California emissions compliant.
My 95 is not California.
My good friend , bought his Tacoma New with 4 miles, in Oregon(no smog in this part of state), build date 9/95 , and it is California emissions built.

Along with the VSV and associated lines, he is also missing the electrical connector.
Quite possibly , his is like mine, and some one has added that canister , tho I could not really figure out why, as mine is a metal round can, nothing to break .

 

Well, I'm stumped! The soft line does indeed almost immediately connect to a hard line. After a short jaunt, that metal line connect to the soft line that I've found unconnected at the other end. I checked the hard fuel lines and they are all connected and my missing any connections.

 

Any other ideas?

 

I think there are 3 lines back by the tank .
Get us a picture of the lines coming from the tank .
You will have the main fuel line, the return line , and the vent line.
