So I am driving down the freeway today on the way home from work at about 70mph and out of no where a dark elongated object comes flying right at me. I swerve to try and miss it but it still makes contact with my windshield. I have no idea if it was metal or wood, but it was about the length of a shock. As you can see it did cause quite some damage.

DAMN RON! That sucks dude, glad you're alright and the glass didn't shatter in on you! Good thing is it's an easy fix. Shitty about the paint though. Was it on the 15?

Yeah you are right Paul. At least it didn't go through and stab me. It was on the 15N. I had just passed the 52 connector. I have an appointment after work tomorrow to get it replaced already. Good thing for insurance.

Yup. Instead of being upset I should just be thankful for my blessing.

You were right by my house! You should see if CalTrans could be held liable for the damages since it is a construction area. Maybe some sort of negligence

    Thanks Derek

I know... I was cursing up and down inside the truck.

This was just the icing on the cake. It was a shitty day at work too.

Thats true. However my insurance deductible is only $100. I don't think the time it would take fighting CalTrans would be worth it.

:facepalm:It's a good thing nothing bad happened to you and that you are okay. Just pay you're deductible for repairs and be done with it. Don't let them install a cheap windshield replacement. Insist on OEM. I'm curious what is gonna be done with paint chip. Let us know.

Good thing it didn't make it through the glass.

I had my windshield replaced about a month ago because of a golf ball sized rock that flew of a big truck.
