I understand that people are having concerns with the 3rd gen as once you start seeing abnormal issues that directly relate to you, you start trying to find anything to be ahead of the curve. I know 3rd gen is still in its growing pains and there are some issues that you probably should let the dealer handle, but unless the bed has been misshapen, it can be corrected by just loosening and slowly shifting it. Im sure between machine building and human QC, things get missed a lot depending on delivery schedules. From my friends in the automotive industry, it seems that MANY of the big names are trying to be leaner in their manufacturing which might be some of the reasons why orange peel, out of whack bed alignments, and the like are becoming more common. Im not saying that you will have an issue going with another manufacturer, but I would bet they have a similar QC as to Toyota. I think a lot of this is luck of the draw and whether or not you are aware of these issues before buying your truck.

I could see that making sense. I guess would that make other companies traditionally better or worse than Toyota? Im guessing the latter?
