    Anyone ever replaced that before? Do need to take the shaft out?

    It's not a simple task, shaft needs to come out and be dismantled. I used my bearing splitter and press to remove the carrier bearing, replaced all three u-joints at the same time. Aftermarket SKF Part was $120 and failed immediately.. did it all over again and it was still good when I sold the truck.

    BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
    I replaced the u-joints with Moog. Feels good.

    Any ideas why this bearing failed prematurely?

    IMO no. Use and wear. Now you know to check the replacements carefully in another 5 years. Have you ever changed the rear diff oil? If not, you're in for a rude awakening....yuck.

    Yeah, did the diffs and t case at 40,000
