okay this is a longshot but what the heck, i want to trade my blue 2015 DC trd offroad short bed with auto trans for a similar truck with manual trans. Mostly interested in darker colors. My truck is immaculate and just turned 5k on the odometer. Im only looking for a trade of similar trucks it doesnt matter to me trd offroad or sport, hell if its a blue sport i dont mind swapping hoods after the trade. Haha anybody else regret their trans choice? Thanks for Lookin

Good luck with this, I love my manual so I understand your position but I doubt you will find many takers. When I bought mine I was told by the sales manager that less than 4% of the 2015 and up Tacomas are manual. Not sure if it's true, seems low. That said I personally know a bunch of people with Tacomas and only one other manual besides mine.

Well they had a "sale" offering 125% value, they told me at the 125% my truck would be worth more than a 2016 so theyd have to grade it in poor condition

Should be worth about $32k depending on the market with that few miles on it. You could probably buy 2 new transmissions for the difference.

Just saw you were a fellow North Carolinian! I know it sucks having a new truck you are not totally satisfied with, but at the end of the day, Auto or Manual, it's still an awesome truck! And hey, the Auto gets better fuel mileage too.

Haha no trades for me thanks. I was lucky enough to run across my truck when I was traveling on business in Boone, when I saw it had three pedals I made a deal on the spot. I love the manual but it's definitely a truck, my last vehicle was a VW Jetta TDI so much longer throws and less positive engagement with the Tacoma, not a bad thing, just different. Here is the best write up I have found for the transmission, you may have seen it already though.

I regretted it about a month afterbi bought it, ive been lookjng for one with three pedals and offering a dealer a straight up trade but you just cant find them. I just sold an 89 and have an 04 with 5spds and its weird stepping in the 15 and putting my foot where the clutch should go to start it

No I get it, for some reason the manual just feels more like a "truck" too.
