I think that by the time I take them off, buy replacement clips (as I've heard you WILL break them) and then pay to ship them, I'll have as much in it as if I were to just buy 4 cans of plastidip and derp them black.

I'm surprised you haven't found someone more local willing to trade you. If we were closer and could meet, I'd do that for sure!
