Hell i found em just at Walmart..haha like 24 bucks i think.

 

they draw like 15amps i think. maybe more..

will depend on how long you use it and if you have anything else running.

so pretty fast. but last a few hours id say easily.

 

Better not use the cig lighter port. Only rated for 10 amps max.

I don't think I can do this without a dual bat setup. And I wont be able to afford one this year it looks like.

 

see thats just a PITA. Have to haul wood then and lots of it. and that thing is big and heavy. Gotta be careful too. You'd have to get some sort of custom exhaust cutout as im sure it would melt the normal tent cloth. and make a mess when you wanted to get it out..have to wait for it to cool to touch..just not a good idea for a super mobile setup.

i can't find any power rattings or amp ratings..so maybe that was high.

also seeing most with at 30-45minute timer

And 4 amps could still drain a starting bat enough to effect other stuff like the fridge.

 

no doubt 4 amps is still a lot and with a lot of use your battery would die in about what..5 hours??

think ill get one..and hack it to change the timer to like 2 hours or something.

 

well for the living out of the tent yea you bet the stove would be the way to go. But thats cause you won't be moving much.

Damn..i think the trail i wanted to do through the Pryors is closed..but maybe not?

According to the paper work..says we are allowed from 5/22-4/15...so..what? haha does that mean its open in the winter and just no from the last part of april till late may its closed? Due to run off??

Road is open!! could be VERY snowy though..still at 8000' or near it..idk how much snow the pryors get..

 

Haha, snow is awesome until you get burried and then sweat out digging out... But we have dudes with winches so we should be good!

Gage that type of stove would be really cool, something comforting about wood heat like that. Granted it's not super portable like Monte is talking about but even if you just setup for 2 nights somewhere it wouldnt annoy me.

Im only really worried about the Pryor mountain part of the plan though. 2/3rd part will be at the base of the big horns and should be relatively low snow unless there is a big snow storm recently.

just plugged em into my 003 for the moment as im headed out in a few minutes. So far, lots more space in them! im sure thats the open back design. Bass is a tad lacking in some stuff..but damn the clarity of the mids and highs and low mids is killer.

So Pryors in winter might be out..or at least the route i was looking at. Just exchanged some emails with Clay Croft(xoverland) and he said wind is a huge factor and difts are really common. Maxtrax(product placement) and or pull pals would be needed as hardly anything to winch off of up there.

unless someone is getting maxtrax for christmas haha


Just hooked up the DAC and amp Marc..much better. Love it. Lows still are a bit low i think. But damn the clarity is sweet.
