    This, that, & the other thing
    Yeah I used to live on the other side of the Cascades, so I know what you're getting there too. The CalChlor doesn't seem to help much and leaves this powdery white residue on everything it touches. I think over long periods of time without washing it off, it actually eats into steel. It definitely takes the clear coat off of aluminum or alloy wheels. Not sure how much salt they are using, but it's not enough, so it doesn't work well. I wish they'd just go back to using the sand or just plowing. Most people here have 4 wheel drives and we don't get sh!t for snow anymore anyway so just go back to the way it was. Glycol is basically unpurified antifreeze, so no wonder it's sticky or syrupy.

    You find the time. You already have a built rig so the easy part is done. While I'm sure money will still be spent on it, it doesn't require a large amount to get anywhere serious (stock to say where I am now) plus what it would cost for the actual trip funds.
