I need a beefier welder. I had the volts cranked on the 175. Still not enough. Welding 1/2 plate for a pulley protector today.

    It's not that simple.

My audio gig is only 6 weeks long and pays 12 an hour. That's job one. Work week for that is Friday-Tuesday.

But I need a job after. The weed and pest spraying job will keep me on but I have to work my days I have off from the audio gig with them. Wednesday and Thursday. Then I can work Monday through Thursday with them till oct making 16-17 an hour. I need that job to pad my savings before moving again.

Third Jo. Is running live sound in the park at cody on Thursday nights which is fun and what I want to do and pays well for how simple it is. That starts in July I think.

So don't act all wise man to me haha

Dang, they have some lax rules in your circuit. Ones I've seen they don't allow them much in the way of mods except protecting the driver door.

Not everything works out perfect dude. Temp jobs don't have wiggle room for trips and he is coming out of college in a field that is not only highly competitive but is also limited. He is working 3 jobs over a short period, not a lifetime. It will probably give him a bit of much needed experience/connections to break into the field. He can enjoy some trips once he lands a more permanent position.

False. I think we have 8 pages of rules. Get ahold of a set of rules. They are actually pretty intense

And it's only two months. In August I'll be back to three day weekends till oct. Plenty of time for camping trips.

I know this post is old but I'm curious why you didnt upload in FLAC or WAV for lossless encoding to preserve warmth and depth. Also congrats on being done with classes!

Dude. My job is not like your job. Every day is an adventure. Not behind a desk. It's art man.

And the chances for trips is reduced a lot till I become established as a respectable engineer.

But my job is great. So I don't mind as much. And I'll always go on trips at some point.

Can't stream .wav or flac. Well. The only site you can download that is from band camp that is free and I'm not a band so it doesn't make sense. I have it as a 24bit 96k wav file. Fuck flac. Haha

Even better I have it on the 2" tape and 1/4" tape. Not that I can play it back though. Don't own a machine...yet.

    Only 5 grand for a studer a810......

Try working 57 hours Satuday night until Tuesday morning, then still having to be on call the rest of the week. No real chance to sneak out and go adventure. One of the downsides of having to give up some personal freedom when your market is down to ensure you keep your job. Sucks but the pay keeps coming in and I can't complain. Monte will be in a similar spot, in a competitive market you gotta make sacrifices starting out until your stabilized then more fun can be had. Sucks but thats how it is right now.

    Pretty much.

Or I could stay here and make almost nothing. As the official assistant to the engineer at the symphony Id make 25k base salary and get extra if more clients came in. Id have to freelance on the side too. But be lucky to get 35k.

Sucks, but perks of truely being passionate about your career. I enjoy my field, but the higher pay definitely helps motivate me more lol.

Lol, believe it or not, some people go to school to do something they actually like. There is a difference between pursuing a dream job and just working to pay the bills. My temp job is rather fulfilling. Yeah, pay is crap and the work itself is pretty basic but I get to work with an endangered species and spend a good portion of my days outside. It's something I have always wanted to do and isn't a job where I am constantly looking forward to the end of the week.

    YES!

As one of my buddies put it that graduated last year, "you know you're in the right feild when even in your off time you still do it". He was doing some more audio work haha pretty true really.

    Case and point...

Timpani Concerto at the St Louis Symphony this weekend. Had to grab some photos while the stage hands were focusing lighting on Mr. Wood. No often you get to see someone play 15 timpani at once. Was pretty awesome.
