Koenigsegg would be a cool place to work. Challenges all day everyday. This is a cool inside look at the torque converter they designed in house to run the regera with a final drive setup, no gears.

hell most engineers would probably pay for the oppurtunity to mess with those toys.

Watching that made me delve more into torque converter anatomy... so basically their torque converter allows for engine at high rev and slow speed to accelerate hard like a normal one but to me it sounds like it would get REALLY hot cause there would be non-lockup till 150+ I am also trying to wrap my head around the rpm to lockup to mph relation and the transition from 6k rpm then would you have to feather it to 5k to lockup then finish out the "7th" gear speeds to top speed fully locked?.... idk just me talking aloud.

Can be locked at 30mph, = 1000rpm. The electric motor helps alot with torque filling from a dead stop and while the engine is at low revs while the converter is locked.

ahh yes. I forgot about the electric... so what do you guys think, 5-8 years before combing this with a cvt for an excellent hyper-mile car with amazing track numbers available to the public under $100k?

No idea I think. So many things to come in the next few years. Germany has said they hope to be combustion engine free by like 2020-2030? Crazy

Edit: they're calling for a ban by 2030!

2.85:1 and yes to the e motor but the "hydrolic coupler" also makes it drivable by applying the torque advantage that the design of the torque converter brings to the situation.

Still on the c63 kick eh? They're a sweet car and fairly cheap these days, no?

A fine list..that's the problem though. It's not so much the purchase the maintenance cost of these old super/sub-super cars that gets ya.

I have been trying to learn investing and I just suck at it.

On that note I am officially debt free and beginning the process of savings accounts and setting money aside for investments.

We are just getting the snow and I am the only one happy at the office.

Out with the old and in with the new

    image.jpg

The new SSD has more memory then both of my old drive combined and is faster and was super cheap. Technology is cool.

Those are two 10,000rpm drives. Once cream of the crop...in 2008 haha had then in RAID1 and they died a few years ago. See if my windows machine comes back to life with this new drive
