Si! Not a huge pay cut either.
The cfo said the position isn't available right now, likely to open up in Jan or so, but on the first phone call he threw out a salary number and said they could find a general job for me to do in the meantime until the position became available if I wanted to make the move asap...all before actually having an interview

Hopefully the salary is enough that you can afford to live there

Its enough I could afford to live. Might even to be able to buy a sled by next winter if I get an affordable house situation.

This thread is getting a little to real for me. I've seen debt crush people so I avoid it like the plague but also know it is sometimes neccessary. I do agree with Mike that everyone should have a year of living expenses in the savings. At least 6 months and enough to move to a new location if you are just entering the field.

Hopefully you get the gig Mark! I may be up in Jackson quite a bit depending on my job opportunities. May have to feed some elk in the winter to pay the bills until I get picked up full time. Hell, I might be stocking shelves at wallyworld for a few months here and there.

I am guessing it's going to be a rough year for Lizzy and I until I get in a more permanent position.

 

I haven't really been there in the peak summer months, so I have no idea what it's like! Thought winter would be worse but i guess not!
