Well, okay. But dirt miles. Which assuming we would follow the baja 1000 route figured it be comparible....maybe..

 

Oh well what's the point if you don't do the full 1000 miles.

And I wasn't talking about getting there taking a while. I'm talking the dirt route. Plus gotta come back up.

Baja is on my list, but would like to do at least two weeks down there to cruise around.

The most direct route for me is strait down I-5. +1300 miles. 21 hours of driving. Sure, that can be done in one day.

And then to rush around trying to cram everything into a week? No thanks. To go that far and not go all the way down to La Paz makes no sense. This is a 2 or 3 week trip.

Not into rushing around trying to do everything with a deadline to turn around and head home looming over everything.

Even this last trip to Utah, with a full 2 weeks to work with, there were times when we might have lingered a bit longer or explored this or that road but couldn't because of time limitations.

Plan your Baja trip for more time and I think there are possibilities.

 

you think your taco could handle that much driving that long> take the jeep instead.

 

It's not a divide. It's common sense. There will be so much stuff down there. No way a week would be worth it. you'd barely touch the surface.

 

Should take the BRZ instead to be honest...

 

@m3bassman For next winter (March/April) a week long trip to explore Death Valley seems way more appealing. I could get behind that sort of plan.

 

I don't think this is a good idea. The banditos would never let it back into the U.S. Besides, it doesn't do very well in the sand.

 

Probably slightly better than a 2WD jeep...

 

Man we covered a shit load of country in Utah this year. More then you ever have. And we still want to go back.

That isn't my point. I always wanna go back.

It's such a long ways and it's out of country. My biggest regret with both trips to Canada is that they were too short. There is so much to do, it seems a waste to go so far and barely get to spend the time to really soak it in.

I'm with mike. We could have explored utah for years it seemed like. The maze time constraints were uncomfortable almost. Trips shouldn't be like that. And anything in a week means just as you hit your stride bam. You're headed home.

 

How about we convince @45acp to enter his truck in the 1k and we all go be his pit crew!?

Should just plan a trip to Baja and ppl can stay as long as they can get away for. Have a route for the first week then for ppl that choose to stay longer have an additional route for that

 

It's a bucket list for me to go to Baja at 1k time. Might be a while for me until I can take the little one
