@BabyTaco might be time for an FJ Cruiser case, full manual control and AWD

I have considered that for 2 years now. Only thing stopping me is cost and space to work on it. Mainly space. I won't be doing much maintenance until it's warm and I can do it outside or I have a garage to myself.

I don't understand how there can be a manual AWD case.

AWD means all the time. The only thing you could do manually is low range at that point.

It has 2wd, awd, 4hi, 4low. AWD is just another mode on the stick

Just like the New Process 242

The center diff is unlocked so you could use it on dry pavement

Sorta nifty for snow and rain situations considering it is a viscous AWD meaning the power fights a bit to be at both axles rather than 100% to the slipping axle

It doesn't really phase people like us that are used to manipulating our trucks in foul weather. But the extra stability in turns on slick surfaces as well as less possibility of spinning the rear tires in rain is very assuring to less experienced drivers. Full 4WD is intimidating to people whereas AWD is safe and friendly (thanks Subaru), it is clever marketing really.

Think about it, AWD doesn't make your vehicle hop on turns but 4WD can if you aren't sure when to use it. But at the same time AWD may not provide the traction needed in many off-road situations.

So lumping them all into one case makes a vehicle seem really versatile, even if 4WD is all you really need.

Only update is no update. He stopped replying to me. Most likely going to be another skygear situation.

Gage, pull actuator, clean, solder, grease, reinstall. Cake walk.
