ya, i put .75 spacers in because of that. my 285s are a little narrower, and nearly cleared without spacers.

With a quick coat of spray paint those things would sell like hot cakes for a few hundred dollars, especially if listed on t4r. Very desirable.

    noted, thanks Alex.

I'm not sure what'd i'd put in there place. I don't mind them on the t4r, was just hoping to skate by with putting the worn duras on the taco so i didn't have to buy new ones right away on the t4r for this wheeling season. i'll probably keep an eye out for used 17" scs's

    @AWilson013

    since you are here... ;)

while i was playing around today, noticed no cutout for oil changes in the skid. i didn't crawl under, but i'm hoping only the front skid has to be dropped?

I wish I knew man. I just take it to the dealership for oil changes. $30 in oil from Wal-Mart then they change it with an OEM filter (and deal with the mess) for like $20 while I drink coffee.

And it's fun to watch/listen to the techs swoon.

I think you only have to remove the one, but it's a big heavy bastard even if that's the case.

I edited that post to further explain why I take it to the dealer for oil changes.

I truly don't remember the last time I changed oil.

    well wasn't unhelpful :p haha

Has got be excited to try it out. Still a bit worried about front diff clearance. but should be able to come up with something.

Going for an L33 LS1 5.3L and NV4500 5speed with Dana 20 Tcase. That would be the plan anyways. Motor will be the cheap part from what im seeing. Tranny and Tcase are gonna run me a lot. But i have faith in the local junk yard so maybe i can find a nice deal somewhere.

I keep thinking of a way to incorporate a Tacoma into a lemons race. That would be an A class competitor for sure with lots of penalty laps lol

Yea..won't be cheap. The tranny and tcase alone will be 2-2.5k. Motor be about 1000 into it. and then all the other shit probably another 1000-1500..

    Should be fun though.

    LOL

Be so awesome. The best thing would be to get one of the 2wd ones and stuff a V8 into it. Was one FS here in sheridan for 3k. Be a great race truck platform. Or a pretaco 2wd even.

Yeah I keep seeing that white one. Tough thing is keeping to the $500 budget or least as close as you can to keep with the spirit of the race. Could easily sell parts off the red single cab to drop that below the $500 mark

    Oh right.

Well..find a junker toyota truck..Then have to find another junker with some sort of V8..probably any Chevy 1500 POS in the junk yard..i'd think you could sell enough parts to make it 500 bucks between the two.

not sure id do that to that nice lil single cab you have.

Yeah for now it's a nice beat around Truck with better potential as a cheap off-roading vehicle

I bet the Wyo group would make a good lemons team though. Just throwing that out there :stirthepot:
